It's almost summer, in some parts of our country anyway..... so thought I would help get you started on protecting yourself from the sun in a fun, fashionable way.  A bucket hat!  They are simple to make and for sure, one of my absolute favorite things to wear in our Florida summer heat!

I have a video, of course, to walk you through the construction process, however, this tutorial comes with a pattern.  I am normally good about creating my own patterns, but this one didn't work out.  I have worn this hat I purchased in Key West, for many occasions and figured since I wasn't ready to dismantle it, I would recreate it.  Nope.  My head full of curls, along with the forehead, did not agree with the hat I made.  It did become a favorite of my husband's however.

I had to use a template I found online.  That is what I am sharing with you.  The pattern takes a bit more than a 1/2 yard, but you can easily mix and match fabrics, to get a different look around the band area if you would like to. Grab the Bucket Hat Pattern, and get to sewing!  Watch my tutorial if you need to!  So many cool prints you can use for this!  Have fun with it!
