Corner Fabric Bookmark - Made from Scraps!

Sew this bookmark using scraps you have laying around. It will make a great Christmas stocking stuffer and only take a few moments of your time.  Under 10 minutes!

First, gather the materials you will need:
3 pieces of cotton fabric cut to 4 inches each.
1 piece of Pellon 809 interface cut to 4 inches.
1 piece of Pellon 809 cut into a triangle, see photo below.

Let's get started!
Gather the fabrics you need for the project.

On one side of a fabric square, iron on interface to the back.  I chose to iron the interface on to the yellow square, as shown below.

Fold over one square so that opposite ends touch and it creates a triangle. Iron interface on to only one side of the square. Then fold over so that pretty side is face up.

Place the folded square in the upper right hand corner, as shown below, on top of the square which has the interface on.

Place the remaining fabric square face down on top of the fabric - as shown above. Right side of fabric should face right side of fabric.

Fabrics should be placed as shown below.
Sew around the 4 sides but be sure to leave a portion open - to turn right side out when done.

Cut the corners of the squares to reduce bulk when turned right side out.

     Turn bookmark right side out.

Using 1/8" seam allowance,  top stitch around all 4 sides.  This will close up the small hole which was left as well.  That's it!  Done.

Easy project yet will help so there is no need to fold the corners of the pages in  your book. Sew and put them as a stocking stuffer!
