With the help of some thick soles, one could have a unique, comfortable, easy - to - pack pair of slippers, good for travel.  These could be compact in order to travel with.
To create the slipper, I started by tracing my foot then the bridge of my foot.
You will need a few materials to continue:
Flannel material for foot
Foam of some sort, for comfort
Bottom layer of felt or faux fabric

Get started:
1. Grab a  paper and pen to get started.  (If your feet are larger than a size 11, you will need to tape 2 pages together.)
2. Trace all around your foot; include the curve edges around the toes.  Create a 1/4" seam allowance - tracing around the foot shape again.

3. Use the foot shape to trace the following:
2 flannel shapes (1 left foot, 1 right foot)
2 fusible foam shapes (1 left foot, 1 right foot)
4 felt (2 left feet, 2 right feet)

4. Cut rectangle strips 3x8" wide for foot bridge area.

- Use the size provided for Large slippers.  Cut 1 inch off the sides of the provided arch after you trace your foot for Medium slippers and 1 1/4" off each side for a Small size.

5. Cut strips for binding 2 x 30 inches long.

Optional Changes:
-alternatives to flannel shapes are terry cloth, minky or cotton.
-alternatives to making "slides" could be to make a rounded front, to cover toes.
- For bottoms, instead of felt, use faux.

After sewing the layers together, attach the binding around the foot layers. Tuck binding underneath the slipper and sew in the ditch.

Turn slipper over. Add glue to the bottom of the sewn pieces OR add fabric glue on to the last 2 felt pieces. Attach to the sewn layers as shown below.

Pin around slipper, as shown below. Leave clipped for approximately 1/2 hour. Remove pins. That's it!
