Apply interface to the back of the outer fabric.

Prep for inserting zipper

Put right side (pretty side) of one of the fanny pack pieces face up towards the right side of inner lining.

Pin fabrics together.

Fold fanny pack material in half to find the middle part.

Fold zipper in half to find the middle of the zipper.

Draw a line, according to the size of your zipper, across the width of the bag 1' down from the top of the fanny pack raw edge.

Be sure to start in the middle of the fabric where you marked the center of the bag. Draw the line to extend outward - from the middle position - to ensure your line will be even on both sides.

Draw another line 1/2 inch below that straight line.  Connect the 2 lines to create a rectangle.   Find the middle of the rectangle and draw a line right across the middle of it.  That line is where the zipper will sit!  Draw 2 triangles at the end of the lines (inside of the rectangle).

Sew around the line, the rectangle.  This will create the hole for the zipper to sit in.

Use the seam ripper to create a hole in the middle of the rectangle. Use scissors to continue cutting across the line until you reach the triangles.  Cut the lines of the triangles.

Push/tuck the lining fabric inside of the rectangular hole. Turn over fabric.  Iron down seams to create a clean edge.

Place zipper face up on table/work space.  Get glue stick, or double sided tape.  Apply generously to the far edges of zipper fabric. This will allow the fabric to stick to the zipper so it does not shift for the next step.

With right side of fabric facing up - and zipper right side up on work space - place the fabric over the zipper teeth so that the zipper is showing through the rectangle.  You will need to shift either the top or the bottom of the fabric.

Attach zipper to fabric.  Pull your zipper in to the middle of the hole.  Top stitch on the right side of the fabric around the rectangle using small stitches.  Set aside.

Prepare Inside Lining Pocket

Fold the fabric in half with wrong sides folding.  Sew around 3 sides, leaving one small portion on the 4th side open, so that you can turn the material right side out.

Cut corners to reduce bulk.  Turn fabric right side out. Iron to flatten. Fold in half with "hole" on a side. Finger press when you  find the center of material.

Get inner lining piece of fabric. With right sides facing up, fold in half to find the middle.

Place folded pocket to line up with middle of the fanny pack lining.   Place the pocket so that it is 2" from the top of the pouch. Pin.

Draw a line 1 1/2" from the top.

Draw another line 1/2" from that line which you just created.

Sew across those two lines.

Fold the fabric up at the line. Iron.

Sew 1/8th inch on left and right sides of pocket to secure it to the lining.  This will create the card slot pockets.

Place the lining fabrics right sides together. Pin the lining pieces around the raw edges.  Be sure not to attach the lining to the piece of outer fabric!

Sew around raw edges of the lining, leaving a portion of the bottom open to be able to flip the fanny pack right side out. Be sure to move the outer lining out of the way as you stitch around the inner lining.

Place to the side.

Prepare Adjustable Belt.

If you need to watch the video for this portion, you can find it here.

Grab the shorter end of the webbing strap, along with the female end of the clasp closure.

Insert one end of the webbing into the clip from under part bringing it up and over.  The end piece of the nylon webbing will need to be folded (to avoid fraying), and sewn.

(The opposite end, without the clip, will be sewn into the fanny pack).

Now grab the 33" piece of webbing strap along with the male end of the clip. Place hollow side of the clip faced down.  Place one end of the strap into the clip at its first slot.  Push strap up, over and down into the next area.  Pull strap underneath.  This allows it to be adjustable.

Hollow area of clip should be facing down.  Move top layer out of the way.  Use the bottom portion of strap.

Place slider on.  Put strap in UP & OVER.  Slide down.  Fold edge and sew.  One end of this strap will be placed, and sewn, into the fanny pack.

Click male and female portions of clip together.

Prepare for Fanny Pack Closure

Pull the straps tight so that they can be placed into the fanny pack for closure.

Lay one layer of the fanny pack with pretty side up.  Open zipper on fanny pack half way for turning of material.

Position the straps so that the rounded part of the clip is face down.  The straps should hang out approximately 1/2" from the raw edges of material. Pin all around the edges, vertically. Do not connect to lining fabric. Do not leave any portion of the fabric open.

Once sewn, snip outer fabrics around the curved areas.  This will make the curve smoother once flipped right side out.

Turn fanny pack right side out through the opening in the lining.  Straighten out seam edges inside using either your finger or a chopstick. Sew 1/8' stitch line to close the bottom of the lining.

One inch from the seam where the strap is held, mark a line 1".  So the same for each side.  Topstitch across those lines.

Now, you are finished!  Project, "Fanny Pack," is all completed!
