Sew a Coin Purse

Are you looking for a quick project to do, in under 20 minutes? This is useful and easy to learn; sew a coin purse!  You will be very happy to prevent coins, Chapstick and small things from falling in to the abyss of your bag!

I have made plenty of these in a day as stocking stuffer gifts.  Once you learn this technique, you can alter the size to make it for another product, like a makeup zipper pouch or even wider and it could be a toiletry bag for a full size bottle of shampoo and conditioner like I have done below.

*If you choose to make the pouch wider, for a makeup pouch, or toiletry bag, just omit the silver key ring and add on boxed corners.  I have a video on that; you can check out the link below:

You can make any size you would like.  Draw a rectangle on a folder to create the size you would like.   Smallest size I have used is what is shown above.  A 5in. x 5in. For a 5in x 5in coin purse, gather the following:

2 outer pieces of fabric
2 inner pieces of fabric (lining)
2 pieces of Pellon 809 home decor/crafting interface OR fusible fleece
1 All purpose zipper; 6 in. or slightly longer, as long as you can cut it.
